How did the band come to be?
The band was originally based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It was formed by Elvis Suhadolnik Bonesso (guitar/vocals) in 2015. Shortly after recording the first album by himself, Elvis moved to Ireland and reformed Stone Sea as a three piece, and recorded two EPs, 2017's 'Vaporizer' and 2019's 'Mankind Maze'. The band changed lineup to see the introduction of Connor Middleton (drums) and Jonathan Parminter (bass).

Do you have any releases coming up in the new year?
We are currently working on a new album that was set to be released by September this year. But due to the virus situation we cannot know for sure if everything will go according to the plan. We certainly hope so. Many of the new songs are completely different than what we’ve done before.

What is something you want listeners to take away from your music?
We want them to take inspiration, to take actions according to what they feel. We want our music to help people get through hard times as well as we want to participate in the good times. We wanna be part of the whole life’s atmosphere.

With everything that is going on in our world what is one cause or organization that you are passionate about?
Venus Project, created and mostly designed by Jacque Fresco. Is just something beyond any political beliefs people have today. Is not capitalism, socialism, fascism, communism or anything alike. Is a quantum jump out of this way of thinking. It’s a resource-based economy that makes money, banks, politicians, country boundaries something irrelevant. It’s based on the unity of human kind and not the separation of it to solve the problems. Pretty much what John Lennon was imagining when he wrote “Imagine”, but well designed by someone absurdly intelligent.

What is your writing process like?
Usually someone comes with a riff, a drum fill, if not with the whole song already in mind and we sit and develop the ideas together. When we put all our minds to work towards one thing there’s a higher probability of coming up with more interesting things.

To follow up with the last question, what inspires your sound?
Every spectrum of human emotion and how these emotions play certain roles in situations. In other words, the nature of the human mind. Writing music is a way of getting rid of negative emotions and transforming it into art. Triumph over negative behaviors inspires me.

Any tours coming up soon?
We're currently working on an album which we're hoping to release towards the end of the year. Said album may or may not be supported by a tour, you'll have to keep an eye on our social media pages for updates!

Anything you would like to tell our readers?
If you either feel like a heavy tune, a dancing tune or a lysergic tune, check our new EP 'Mankind Maze' which is out on every streaming platform. We'll be releasing a new Music Video from this album, so make sure you subscribe to our Youtube channel.
There's a new album coming this year too, so stay tuned!!
