Awake At Last brightened up Pittsburgh's south side on Sunday, packing the smiling moose with a crowd of people. The whole venues was constant energy, growing more intense with each act that played. The show started up with a local band, you could tell they were really enjoying themselves on stage. They also knew how to handle a tricky situation when the bands bassist had his strap break and had to play the the rest of the set with his bass on his knee. Up next was another supporting act, they didn't have much energy on stage but the singer was able to connect with the crowd and that is what's really important. The tours supporting act was third to play that night. I was surprised when they had their own lighting set up that went along with the set, that's something you don't see with the regular smaller touring acts. Compared to the previous band that played they were fire crackers on stage, jumping and singing their heart out. To close out the night the headliner Awake At Last packed the venue to an extent that i haven't seen in previous shows here. The crowd was nuts, people were working up a sweat and singing along. I didn't have the chance to check them out previously but i'm glad i got to catch their show. Their tour is just starting up so definitely catch them if they play a city near you!
