Based out of Austin, TX, Cristina Soto is a singer/songwriter who continuously seeks to grow as a “no-genre” artist. Her vocal training encompasses a wide spectrum of genres, including jazz, opera, gospel, and musical theatre. She is extensively known for her cross-genre work, specifically within the realm of EDM. She released her debut album “All I Need” in 2016.
Her collaborative efforts with EDM artists consist of these features: Psymbionic - “One Thing” Bassnectar - “Into The Sun” mixtape Illenium & Said The Sky - “Painted White” Now, Soto has revisited her breakout Tritonal track “Still With Me” that was remixed by Seven Lions in 2012. With this new acoustic version, she’s accompanied by her brother, Rob Soto (guitar), Haydn Vitera (strings), and Omar Vallejo (bass). The arrangement of these instruments serves a valuable purpose, bringing even more life to the composition. The addition of strings invoke a stronger emotional impact and permit Soto’s ethereal vocals to soar high as the prominent highlight. Soto’s raw rendition beautifully captures the essence of this track, and its underlying theme to slow down and be present with the ones you love. “Still With Me” feels captivating, as if being touched by some kind of divine force or power. “I see… I see you smiling, smiling… Slow down, Let me be still with you… Still with me…” Connect with Cristina Soto on her social platforms: Website: https://cristinasoto.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sotosinger Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thesotosinger/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/thesotosinger Review by: Bri Rodriguez
