Message to the Masses’ vocalist Matthew Diana just put out a solo EP called “Disasterpiece”. This post-hardcore release is chock full of the genre staples everyone loves. It’s reminiscent of Of Mice and Men and Attila, which creates a familiar and solid sound. The EP kicks off with the song ‘HAVE HOPE’. This first track stands out against the rest. It’s subtle rock sounds allows the message and theme to be easily received by listeners. The serious tone and lyrics give “Disasterpiece” much needed relief from the heaviness that is prominent on the rest of the tracks. Unclean vocals come in heavy on the tracks ‘OH BROTHER OH BROTHER’ and ‘REAL TALK’. The balance of clean to unclean vocals are nailed perfectly. The best track is ‘SOUL SYMMETRY’. It offers the most dynamic sound and strays from the traditional post-hardcore components. Matthew Diana’s “Disasterpiece” definitely deserves a spin. It has something for everyone, and the themes throughout can resonate with people from all walks of life. “Disasterpiece” is available now!
