Whoever told MisterWives that they were too “colorful” to make it as a band clearly didn’t see the full potential the group had. Mandy, the lead singer, after telling the story of how the band was looked down on for being the way they were, showed off her sparkling sequin two piece outfit in defiance. Covering songs from Lizzo, as Mandy dubbed “the God herself”, and “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” as well as playing old favorites like “Reflections” simultaneously showed how diverse an animated the group truly is. What I loved about their performance was that there was never a dull moment. The high energy and smiles from the band members were infectious. As I looked around the crowd, there wasn’t a bored face in sight. Everyone was dancing, jumpy, and just having an incredible time. If Misterwives ever comes to your city, take the opportunity to see them live. This was definitely one of the best shows I’ve seen this year!
