A War Within
How did the band meet?
I met every single one of my members at a show on tour. chronologically I meet Dustin first when i was touring back in 2016 in Albuquerque. He hit me up randomly and talked about filling in a guitarist spot when we were just with 1 guitarist. He didn't actually join the band until Nov 2018. Goes to show that persistence and consistency is how you get the leg up. I met Roy also in 2016 at a fest in Toledo Ohio when he was in a different band. I don't remember meeting him that day but that's how he said we met. I think in early 2017 we had to kick out our drummer and he hit us up and followed up like a pro ever since. I met Kyle 2018 on tour with Blessthefall. He came out to the show early and just barely caught us for our last song on the set. It helped we had a friend in common and that's how he learned of us. Kyle is just a touring member for right now but things are going smooth since his first show with us fall last year.
What is the bands favorite song to play live?
I think the favorite has to be Better Off Dead. We've changed up our sound quite a bit since our last release. I feel like with the new album on the horizon that this song is a precursor of what our vibe is going to be like.
We just released our newest single Escape The Feeling. We have been going to a new producer out in Grand Rapids MI named Lee. He's awesome and we enjoy his style and what he's pulling out of the new style we've been cultivating.
What is one cause that the band is passionate about?
A cause we're passionate about is tough to say. I feel like a band we stand up against so many hardships in our personal lives. Life has a way of kicking you in the face for all the wrong reasons so you need to find a way to stand tall and keep moving or you'll just get swept away in depression or addiction. I find it's hard to stay focused or not get frustrated when the fight for making your life better is filled with so many roadblocks. It's much easier to succumb to the pain and just give up. It's also one of those things you gotta remember that there's always someone worse off than you are and that bitching about it won't solve it. Giving up doesn't stop the suffering it just spreads to those around you. The best cause I can say we strive for is to be a positive force for people out there that need it whether they're truly hurting or hiding behind some act of numbness that prevents. People out there aren't always honest with how they're suffering so they need a different way to see and act almost translated in a way they feel instead of just being told.
