CHECK OUT THEIR MUSIC HERE!
How did the band meet?
My college roommate and I started TREY right at the beginning of our senior year, with myself fronting the band and him on drums. We had a handful of songs written, and he and I would tag team the recording and production on the first few records. I hated the idea of naming the band after myself, but he pointed out that it made sense to cast the identity of the band around the songwriter as other players swap in and out of our touring band, so I guess it worked out!

What is the band’s favorite song to play live?
I can’t speak 100% for everyone, but there’s a change in the energy of the room every time we play ‘Oxygen’ from our second record. It rests in this super slick groove until the end, when the whole thing kind of explodes. The entire production is pretty intense when we’re on the road, actually. The end of that song is the only time in our set that all the lights stay completely off.

New Releases?
We just put out an EP, ‘OFFDAY.’ It’s definitely the most socially aware songwriting I’ve done, and the response has been really nice. We’re pretty much always working on new stuff, so there should be another little record here soon…

What is one cause that the band is passionate about?
Black Lives Matter. With COVID-19 shutting down the touring world, our connectedness to our audience is pretty much Twitter and Instagram. But all of us individually, not just collectively on the TREY pages, have pretty much canceled any other agenda we had as far as social media goes. The gift of our platform is that it will be used for good, for as long as people are listening. We’ve all been at protests and we’re being incredibly conscious moving forward with our personal and band finances, making sure that we’re consistently contributing to the fight for social and racial equity worldwide.

Anything you would like our followers to know?
We’re putting out a SUPER exclusive run of merchandise on June 26, with 10% of our net profits going to BLM and transgender protection efforts. Hit our social accounts @allcapstrey for more info!
