Columbus, Ohio – Fear Culture is an ambient metalcore band who’s whole mission is to bring awareness to mental health and to ending the stigma that surrounds out. Ever since forming in 2018, Fear Culture – consisting of Matty Lehman on vocals, Sean Divine on guitar, Jesse Bowman on bass, and Chase Grant on drums – have been making waves in their community and only continue to grow.
Fear Culture released their debut EP, Room to Breathe, back in 2018 showcasing their full musical range that is as heavy as it is elegant throughout its 22-minute journey. The EP opened up a lot of different doors and avenues for the act, as they’ve since shared the stage with acts like Silent Planet, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Blessthefall, Palisades, and more.
Now it’s time to capitalize on their success thus far, and that’s the plan. Fear Culture has recently released their latest single, “Supernova,” which is their first taste of new music since Room to Breathe.
On the new single, Lehman shares that “The premise of ‘Supernova’ has been an anthemic topic I’ve been trying to cultivate into a cathartic experience that any audience can understand. While trying to end the stigma surrounding mental health, this song breaks the mold of silence during an individual’s toughest times — often at odds in their own heads. The song and chorus validates the helplessness and wide range of emotions one goes through when dealing with something so traumatic and never ending, it quite literally takes on the metaphor of feeling like your head is about to explode.”
