The group has amassed over 1.6 billion global streams, and 1.6 million album equivalent units sold across their catalog in the US alone. With hundreds of thousands of rabid fans engaged with Dance Gavin Dance on socials and their very own festival event, Swanfest, which sold out its inaugural edition in 2019 and is slated to see a triumphant return in 2022 in the band's hometown of Sacramento this April, it all amounts to a full force band facing a mainstream that has overlooked them for too long.

The video will be available on YouTube today at 9:33AM PT / 12:33PM ET HERE. This week, the band celebrates their new music and their forthcoming North American arena tour with two very special sold out underplays at Chicago’s Metro and New York City’s Irving Plaza. For tickets and more details, go to https://smashingpumpkins.com/tour When The Smashing Pumpkins first emerged out of Chicago in 1988, the world had never heard a band quite like them. They spun together rock, pop, shoe-gaze, metal, goth, psychedelia, and electronic into a kaleidoscope of saccharine melodies, fuzzy distortion, bombastic orchestration, incendiary fretwork, eloquent songcraft, and unshakable hooks. Upon their formation, their sound was different, iconoclastic, and wholly new—and it still is today. As a result, they’ve sold over 30 million albums worldwide and collected two GRAMMY® Awards, two MTV VMAs, and an American Music Award. Their catalog is highlighted by the platinum Gish [1991], the quadruple-platinum Siamese Dream [1993], diamond-certified Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness [1995], platinum Adore [1998], and gold Machina/The Machines of God [2000]. In 2018, they embarked on one of their most successful tours ever, the Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour, followed by SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN. Meanwhile, 2020 saw the release of the band’s eleventh full-length and latest double album, CYR. As prolific as ever, The Smashing Pumpkins will release their next album in 2023. More details to come. New York-based singer and songwriter Mae Krell is back with her new single, “tooth fairy,” out on all streaming platforms today. "tooth fairy" is Mae's first new single since the release of her acclaimed 4-track EP, ‘imposter syndrome,’ which was debuted earlier this year. The EP struck a chord with fans and tastemakers alike, with PRIDE aptly describing it as “an intimate and heart-wrenching dissection of the unavoidable self-doubt we all experience in our 20s.” Her newest single, “tooth fairy,” is one of the previously unreleased tracks that came from the ‘imposter syndrome’ EP sessions. Beautiful, heart-wrenching and deeply introspective, “tooth fairy” is a song about coming to the realization that you may be better off without someone who you previously thought was indispensable. Mae elaborates: “I wrote it after I found out that someone who used to be my best friend moved to the city where I grew up. It felt like tearing open an old wound that I didn’t know I had, and also put me in a spot to question: if the chance were to arise, would I want to give them a second chance? That’s something I’m still trying to figure out.” At just 23 years old, Mae exudes a musicality wise beyond her years. Influenced by revered singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Phoebe Bridgers and Gregory Alan Isakov, Mae writes intimate reflections that confront past trauma, self-love and personal truths. With a distinct folk-pop sound and undeniable lyrical prowess, she has earned millions of streams across her repertoire with multiple tracks breaking 500K. After kicking off this year on tour with Ethan Jewell, Mae is now back on the road with SoFar Sounds for a series of shows across the US and Canada. Sleeping With Sirens Drop New Single + Music Video "Complete Collapse" (via Sumerian Records)9/14/2022 Photo By: Nick Stafford Wednesday, September 14, 2022 - Pop-punk titans Sleeping With Sirens have today dropped their latest single and music video for "Complete Collapse". The titular track premiered on SiriusXM's Octane and is taken from their highly-anticipated forthcoming album 'Complete Collapse' out in one month on Friday, October 14 (via Sumerian Records). Speaking on today's release, vocalist Kellin Quinn shares: "'Complete Collapse' is actually a song about how I was feeling mentally before the pandemic and how I could have completely collapsed if it weren’t for the time at home during the pandemic. Having the time to restore and not burn out was a godsend, which is ironic for how terrible the pandemic was. It is also the reason for the title and the picture on the cover of our album. I think says it best we’re all just chilling at the pool drinking our martinis while everything is burning around us." Prior to today, Sleeping With Sirens dropped the music videos for "Crosses" featuring Underoath's Spencer Chamberlain, "Let You Down" featuring Charlotte Sands and a visualizer for "Ctrl + Alt + Del" which altogether have clocked up a staggering nearly 2.3 million views on YouTube and 2.9 million streams on Spotify alone. It arrives this Friday, 16th September via Solid State. Pre-order it HERE. Today, the band has shared the video for "Broken." "Writing 'Broken' started by drawing on a specific memory of a panic attack, but slowly evolved into something more broad," the band explains. "The song aims to capture that feeling of desperately not wanting to talk about your problems, but at the same time, just wanting everyone to already understand." CLICK THE IMAGE BELOW TO WATCH "BROKEN" Color Decay follows 2019's The Act. As Revolver stated when selecting the record as one of the 50 Most Anticipated Albums of 2022, "The Devil Wears Prada have proven time and time again that it's possible to never stop sonically experimenting — with screamo, with spoken word, with atmospheric electronica, with sludge — and never lose their own crushing identity. Anticipating their next successful risk is one of the things that makes being a TDWP fan so rewarding." The Devil Wears Prada have been consistently delivering since forming in 2005. Fans voted 2009's seminal With Roots Above and Branches Below one of the 5 Greatest Metalcore Albums in a Revolver poll, with the magazine christening it "a true metalcore landmark." The group has notched six consecutive Top 5 debuts on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, including Dead Throne [2011], 8:18 [2013], Space EP [2015], Transit Blues [2016], The Act [2019], and ZII EP [2021]. The latter served as a sequel to one of their most beloved projects — 2010's Zombie EP. In the wake of the EP, the group exceeded a quarter of a billion cumulative streams and views. During 2021, the musicians decamped to remote hideaways together in Wisconsin and Desert Hot Springs, California. This time around, Jon took the reins as producer, collaborating closely to assemble a rich sonic architecture for what would become Color Decay. The band will also embark on a Summer 2022 US headline tour. TDWP will hit the road on the 4th of August in Milwaukee and the trek runs through the 10th of September in Columbia, South Carolina. Stray From the Path and Dying Wish will also appear. More information and tickets can be found HERE. The Devil Wears Prada will perform the Zombie EP and the ZII EP in full, along with a selection of greatest hits, making each show a special night for TDWP fans both new and old! 'Five Years' was the first song fully written for the 2006 album, ‘The Mother, The Mechanic, and The Path’ and "is a song about being proud of where you are and how you got there" says the band. Album 'Twenty' effortlessly straddles the divide between then and now, it's 10 songs casting a backwards glance at the days and years gone by, while also looking forward to the future. A collection of both brand new tracks and older ones written during the course of the band’s life to date, the result is something of a paradox: this both is and isn’t a new Early November record. "Twenty is an album we are extremely proud of." says Ace Enders. "It captures the moments of our 20 year career perfectly. Alot of these songs were originally b-sides from over the years, some of which are the strongest songs we’ve written together, but simply just didn’t fit on an album. It feels almost like fate that they were saved until now for this release." TWENTY TRACKLIST

The tour will now take place in Winter 2023 with support from Fit For A King, Gideon and Seeyouspacecowboy. Band statement: For anyone who has been following our band over the past 18 years it will come as no surprise that we as a band have had ongoing struggles with our mental health. We have never cancelled a tour. Ever. We have played almost dead, we have played crippled, we have played when I (Joel, who is writing this) have been close to killing myself, and not once have we ever pumped the brakes when we definitely should have. We have had a system of time off between tours that has worked for us for the most part, but in the depths of Covid we agreed to break this structure as all we wanted to do at the time was tour. We committed to back to back USA and European tours and we are in a situation now where we can’t consciously embark safely on both tours and need to briefly pump the brakes. Some members of the band need to seek help for their mental health, issues that were only compounded during the worst of Covid. We are at a point where if we were to force them to continue our European tour as it stands, directly after the US tour, we would risk having to face a situation far worse than a cancelled tour, and that’s not a risk we are willing - nor should anyone be willing - to take. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, in fact this is the fastest selling headline tour we have announced, but what matters to us foremost is making sure that our brothers have the space and time to tackle the parts of their lives that need to be addressed. Sadly, within the music industry - and indeed the larger entertainment and hospitality industries within which we coexist - the schedules that artists are expected to keep maintaining to remain relevant are brutal. This has created a culture and an atmosphere that almost rewards abuse, which leads to extremely poor mental health issues that mostly roll on disregarded. The music industry is a behemoth that moves on without the artists it spits out, and so if we were to ignore this situation and abandon the love we have for our friends, EXPECTING them to embark on a timeline of touring that would very likely destroy them and us, life would go on, just not for us. Not for our band. Not for all the people who love them, and not for you, our extremely loyal and beloved fans. Thankfully this is FAR from a break up statement. It’s just us, asking for your understanding as we move our European tour and give our friends and brothers the time to heal some wounds that have been left unattended. Without a doubt we will be back in Europe and the UK, it will just be a little later than planned. The US tour will go ahead as scheduled, and all future plans are still in place. We do apologise - deeply and sincerely - for this move, but as I have stated above, sometimes you need to pump the brakes, and that time for us is now. 2023 and 2024 will be busy years for us, with a new album and then the tenth year anniversary of Let The Ocean Take Me, so we want to make sure we are moving into the next two years the strongest we can possibly be as a band, and that means that we need to be prescient and acknowledge that acting pre-emptively instead of reacting to possible tragedy is the right thing to do. Europe we love you, and hope you understand. We will be back very soon with an album that we wrote with you in mind. It’s heavier, faster and more aggressive than anything we have ever made. We can’t wait to play it for you. Love, Joel and The Amity Affliction. The record finds Counterparts tapping into a deep sense of dread that pushes their visceral sound to even greater extremes. It's an album that revolves around uncertainty but results in the group's most definitive statement to date. Counterparts recently shared the album's second single, Whispers of Your Death," a towering blast of intricate riffs and crushing drums that wastes no time in introducing many of the harrowing themes of A Eulogy For Those Still Here. The track follows lead single "Unwavering Vow" (which garnered attention from the likes of Stereogum, Revolver, BrooklynVegan, Exclaim, and more), and continues to tease an even darker and more aggressive Counterparts than ever before. Watch the "Whispers of Your Death" music video via YouTube: Stream "Whispers of Your Death" everywhere: https://lnk.to/CounterpartsMusic Preorder A Eulogy For Those Still Here: https://lnk.to/counterparts Vocalist Brendan Murphy discussed the new song saying: "I feel like anyone who has been following the band/me pre-pandemic knew this was coming, but this song is about my cat Kuma. My ex and I rescued him just under 2 years ago and he is hands down the sole reason I stuck around long enough to even make this record. Shortly after he was rescued, we developed a special bond and now I can’t imagine my life without him. Unfortunately in the first few months we had him, he became very sick and almost died due to complications of a blood parasite while being FIV positive. Nobody believed he would make it… but luckily he is still here with us and currently doing great. Being his dad is hands down the most important thing I’ve ever done in my life and also what I am most proud of. I love him more than anything in the world and this song is my tribute to him for quite literally giving me a reason to live. 07/26/2020." Since forming in 2007, Counterparts–made up of Murphy, guitarists Alex Re and Jesse Doreen, bassist Tyler Williams, and drummer Kyle Brownlee–have gone from underdogs to a globetrotting powerhouse in the world of aggressive music. Engineered/produced by Will Putney (Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die, Vein.fm), A Eulogy For Those Still Here finds Murphy at a crossroads, preoccupied with the inevitability of change and endings. “I think I deal with things by preparing myself for the end,” he explains. “With so much of this record I’m mourning the loss of someone that’s still alive or saying goodbye to something that hasn’t left yet.” The result is a high stakes record written as a true statement of intent–a mix of crushing heaviness and stark atmospherics that draws on everything Counterparts have been honing for the past 15 years. “All of these things I have are still a big part of my life but one day they won’t be, and I don’t want to be focusing on that instead of enjoying the time I have with them,” says Murphy. “Maybe I’m saying goodbye preemptively but I think it’s important to say goodbye while you can.” A Eulogy For Those Still Here track list: 1. 07/26/2020 2. Whispers of Your Death 3. Bound To The Burn 4. Unwavering Vow 5. A Eulogy For Those Still Here 6. Skin Beneath A Scar 7. Sworn To Silence 8. What Mirrors Might Reflect 9. Soil II 10. Flesh To Fill Your Wounds 11. A Mass Grave of Saints Biography:
There’s an anxiety in life that comes from knowing there isn’t anything to do but try to prepare for the inevitability of change. And sometimes the only thing that can make a drastic shift or an ending more difficult is to see it coming. On their seventh full-length, A Eulogy For Those Still Here, Counterparts set out to capture that surreal space in-between, and in the process pushed their sound to its greatest extremes to make their most definitive statement as a band. “I think I deal with things by preparing myself for the end,” explains vocalist Brendan Murphy. “When I notice something is wrong or something’s up, I can’t just wait for it to happen. I start catastrophising and then sometimes I end up willing these things into existence. With so much of this record I’m mourning the loss of someone that’s still alive or saying goodbye to something that hasn’t left yet.” Murphy’s preoccupation with endings reaches wide, from relationships dissolving, to friendships fading, to loved ones passing away–and even to his band. Since forming in 2007, Counterparts–made up of Murphy, guitarists Alex Re and Jesse Doreen, bassist Tyler Williams, and drummer Kyle Brownlee–have gone from the Hamilton, Ontario, underground to touring the world as metalcore heavyweights. But with 15 years already under their belts, Murphy couldn’t help but consider a day where his well might run dry. “I started to think about what it would be like to write a record as if it would be our last, to try and make something that I knew I would be satisfied with if it was,” the always candid singer explains. “I love this band, it’s the most important thing I’ve ever done and I’m very fortunate to have it, but we put a lot into it and it’s not the most sustainable way to live.” Murphy’s forthrightness is part of Counterparts’ appeal, and it's earned them a loyal fanbase who have come to appreciate the unflinching honesty that’s at the heart of everything the band does. “We’re just totally transparent,” Murphy says. “Almost to a fault. I don’t hide how I’m feeling lyrically, I’ll say whatever publicly, there’s just no secrets. So although there’s some ambiguity with this record, I also think people will understand where we’re coming from.” With these self-imposed high stakes, the band convened at Graphic Nature Audio with their longtime producer/engineer, Will Putney (Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die, Vein.fm) to make what would become A Eulogy For Those Still Here. In addition to Putney’s reliable hand at the helm (“I can’t think of anyone better than Will,” Murphy laughs. “He’s got a Grammy, he knows what he’s doing!”), the album also sees the return of Doreen and Re. The two guitarists’ roles in Counterparts date back to the band’s earliest days and their return to the fold was a full circle moment. “It’s been great to have Jesse and Alex fully back,” Murphy says. “They were still contributing to a lot of writing even when they’d left, so it really feels like we’re getting to pick up where we left off. It was the most collaborative writing process we’ve ever had for sure.” The resulting album feels like Counterparts have honed every element of their sound into its sharpest point, resulting in 11 of their most viscerally compelling songs to date. A Eulogy For Those Still Here kicks off with “Whispers of Your Death,” a towering blast of frentic, metal-tinged hardcore that spins on a dime between soaring leads and vicious riffs, all while Murphy’s eye-bulging roar lays out a meditation on preemptive grief. “My cat, Kuma, has been sick,” he explains. “Even when the vet tells me he’s doing ok, I think he’s going to die. If he sneezes I go to the worst case scenario, and that’s definitely the mindset I was in when I was writing these songs.” The theme reappears on tracks like “Flesh To Fill Your Wounds” or “Bound To Burn;” the former a rumination on fading love, while the latter explores the unexpected frustrations and pressures of pursuing a creative passion. Murphy’s forthrightness continues on pummeling mid-album standout “Sworn To Silence.” “The song is about my struggles with lyric writing,” he says. “While we were in the studio, I found it extremely difficult to come up with new ways to convey how I feel. And I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with constantly tapping into some of the darkest points of my life. There were so many nights I spent face down on the floor trying to express my feelings through lyrics and wondering ‘why am I doing this?’ After this album was finished, I was obviously happy with my contributions, but sometimes I wonder how much longer I can keep this up.” Yet Murphy’s lyrics still cut to the core, like on the album’s ominous title track, where he directly addresses his fears of impending loss. “A lot of these songs read as though I’m delivering the eulogy at a funeral even though the subject I’d written about was very much still alive–and also in attendance.” A Eulogy For Those Still Here comes to a close with “A Mass Grave of Saints,” and as the song’s earth-shaking aggression crashes into heartrending melody and atmosphere, Counterparts sound as if they’re pouring every last ounce of themselves into the music. It’s one of the most climactic songs the band have ever written, and offers a suitably jaw-dropping conclusion to a record that revolves around endings. But as the final wash of guitars slowly fades away, the song still feels like more of a question mark than a period. “All of these things I have are still a big part of my life but one day they won’t be, and I don’t want to be focusing on that instead of enjoying the time I have with them,” says Murphy. “Maybe I’m saying goodbye preemptively but I think it’s important to say goodbye while you can.” |
